Over there

Hello

In the sentence 'The changing rooms are over there' what does the word 'over' mean? Is the same meaning without over?

Thanking you for your help in my understanding of this preposition.

In this context, I would say that "over" is acting as a descriptor, it wouldn't have the correct meaning by itself. The meaning is slightly different. "Over there" implies some amount of distance.
