"The gross domestic product (GDP) reached 56.9 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year."
This sentence is from the Chinese Government Report on March 5 2014, does the previous year mean 2012, that is to say, compared with 2012, in 2013 GDP had an additional 7.7%, OR mean 2013, that is to say 7% increased during 2013?
