I was told in this response, future perfect can't be used. I want to know why.
- Did you write to Grace last summer?
- No, but I will have seen her over winter vacation.
There is no real reason for the so-called future perfect in that mini-dialogue. It would be acceptable in. Are you spending New Year with Grace?

fivejedjonThere is no real reason for the so-called fuutre perfect in that mini-dialogue.It would be acceptable in.Are you spending New Year with Grace? No. I will have seen her over Christmas, so I'll go to my sister's for New Year.Thank you, Mr Fivejj. But I don't understand why in your sentence the future perfect is ok while in my sentence the future perfec
fivejedjonI didn't say it wasn't OK.So my mini-conversation is ok?
fivejedjonIt is not grammatically incorrect. If you have a good reason for using the future perfect, then it is fine.Thank you. But I find my mini-dialogue in the OP a bit unnatural, if not incorrect.
