Is this sentence correct:

1) Jane loved her doctor over her husband.


Does it mean

A.. Jane loved her doctor more than her husband. She preferred her doctor over her husband.

PS, The title was supposed to be 'over'. Some strange mistake must have occurred when I was typing it. I tried to edit it, but didn't manage to. My apologies.

It's hard to assign any coherent meaning to that sentence. I don't think I've ever heard "to love s.o. over s.o. else".
