Outside of/Aside from

Are these two expressions definitely interchangeable at all times?
For example can I say "outside of the most common expressions, there are several expressions that we still need to learn"???

Thanks:)

"Outside of", while becoming increasingly common in speech, is non-standard and should be avoided. The preposition "outside" never needs "of". "Aside from" (and also "apart from") is standard English, and so its use is preferable.
