Outside of the spirit of

Is it natural to say “act outside of the spirit of”?


In a well-run Genius Bar, the management will always take the side of the technician unless the technician is acting outside of the spirit of Apple service, which is to do the best thing for the customer at all times.

What would be the opposite in the above context?


act inside/in the spirit of
