Outside / at the gate

Can I say,

(a) The stranger was outside / at the gate.

(b) She saw a stranger at / outside /near a gate.

(c) When she looked outside, there was a stranger outside the gate.

(d) When she went outside / out, she saw a stranger standing outside (the gate).
