Hi, "Outnumbered two to one, the underrepresented girls lost the election to the boys."
Here's an additional comment.
The overall idea behind this sentence is a little unclear to me. Does it mean, for example, that there were twice as many boys voting, or does it perhaps mean that twice as many of the candidates were boys?
There's no further context. It's an example in an English Learning Magazine.
It looks like there're two possibilities. 1. the boy voters are as twice many as the girl voters. 2. the boy candidates are as twice many as the girl candidates.
