Some business men make a new definition of "outcome".

1.‘Anything deemed independently valuable by an internal or external customer’

2‘Definition of the Ends, rather than the Means’

3.‘The What, not the How'

2 and 3 is easy to understand,but I can't understand 1

What is "independently valuable"?

What is external/internal customer.

I have no idea about it.><

Here is a more down-to-earth definition of 'outcome' in the business sense:

An outcome is a goal that you develop in such a way that conforms to your subconscious mind. A goal is usually quite general, whereas an outcome is specific to the individual and provides a very clear understanding of what to do. The structure of an outcome should activate our personal resources in such a way that it becomes actionable.

So you can see why an outcome would be 'independently valuable' to the individual-- it fulfills his/her personal desires.

External customers are the company’s clients. They are people who purchase the products the company produces. They are of a great importance to the organization. Internal customers are the staff that the company hires. They play an important role in the organization’s success as well.
