Grammar

out/ out of

Hello,

1. He came out of the burrow.

2.He came out the burrow.

Are both sentences correct? Is "of" is required?

Thanks.

Hi, I'd say 'of' is definitely required. I have heard people say 'He came out the door', but never 'out the house'. I see this as very much an exception, perhaps a regional way of speaking.
