Out onto the balcony

I walked out of my office, down the hall, and out onto the balcony.

(It's an inside balcony. There are no doors between the hall and the balcony, it's more like a balcony hallway.)

1. Can I describe it as a balcony?

2. Would you write "out onto" here?

3. Is the sentence fine?

Thanks.
