out of range

Would you know if out of range is used when talking about guns in a video game for instance?

You're out of range, you won't be able to kill him from this far out. You need to get closer.

Thanks

If the video game is finely tuned to that sort of thing, I imagine that the use of the term 'out of range' would be appropriate.

Hi

It is sometimes used as a metaphor for any situation where you can't get what you're aiming for ...

- You're out of range and you're out of luck

... means that you have no hope of getting what you want
