Out of poetry...

What does take the poetry out of poetry mean?

My guess would be to be able to distinguish real poetry.
Am I right?

Without more context, I would guess this means to remove the beauty, mystery, evocativeness, resonance, etc. from poetry. To make it more prosaic.
