In practice, I'd say we commonly avoid use the phrase 'body parts'in such a context. The phrase makes me think of "disconnected" bits of people spead around, eg after a bomb explodes.

'Parts of the body' sounds much more natural to me.

eg The head is among the most important parts of the body.
