Out of my mind

I have heard some people say this sentence.

(ex) The date of our next meeting is out of my mind right now.

I think the speaker means he/she does not remember the date of the meeting.

Is it correct to say "out of my mind" meaning "forget"? Thanks for your help.

I have not heard it used with that meaning. Here are two more usual ways to use that expression:

It's driving me out of my mind ~ It's driving me crazy.
It was too awful to think about so I put it out of my mind.
