Rob is fairly shy, so he was out of his comfort zone when he gave that speech.

Hi,

I'd like to know how uncomfortable Rob was when he was out of his comfort zone.

Was he extremely or just ordinarily uncomfort? Thanks.

The idiom itself does not reveal that, but based on the word 'fairly', which to me is not extreme, he was only somewhat uncomfortable.
