Out of disagreement

Hello,

Could you please tell me if the following sentence makes sense and sounds right?

"The company filed a lawsuit out of disagreement with this interpretation", meaning that the company filed a lawsuit because it does not agree with the interpretation.

Many thanks,

Rui.

I've heard "file a lawsuit over a disagreement," and "file a lawsuit out of desperation."

How could I say it in a better way (we are taking about an interpretation from tax authorities, so I guess we are not expected to be very polite:-)))?

Thank you.

over a disagreement sounds quite well!

Does "out of disagreement" have a more negative conotation, as if someone were fighting?

Thanks a lot?

Yes. In my opinion, it focuses on the emotional reason for the action, rather than the legal reason.
