Out of desperation

You're doing all these things out of desperation,
Ohhh woah,
You're going through six degrees of separation.

Hi, everyone. Can you please clarify the phrase "out of desperation' in the text above?

Does it mean "You're doing all these things" when "you are desperate." or "You're doing all these things" to make you feel not desperate anymore?

Thanks a lot.
