'out-of-codes'

Would 'out-of-codes' (supermarket terminology) be hyphenated as shown above when referring to the plural noun form? I know we can write 'expired product(s)' or 'out-of-code product', but I was wondering whether 'out-of-codes' for the plural noun would in fact be correct.

The deli manager pulled $200 worth of out-of-codes from the deli cooler.

Thank you.

victo he deli manager pulled $200 worth of out-of-codes from the deli cooler. It is certainly clearer to me that way.
