Out back

Hello!

Could you please confirm if the meaning of "out back" in the following sentence means the wall inside a house?

ex.: ...and the wall out back whitewashed.

And it is true that it is an Australian term?

Thank you very much for your help,

Lavínia

this would mean a wall at the back of the house, not inside it. It is probably not even part of the house, it could be the garden wall. outback - one word - is the word for the wilder less-settled areas of Australia, but it not connected to the use of 'out back' here.
