Can anyone give me some examples with "out" which has the same meaning as in "multiply out"

Hi, I just overheard two people saying it. I guess it means multiplying two or more pairs of numbers with each other. Like in the following example,
2*3 =
3*1 =
3*3 =
If I want you to find the product of these three pairs of numbers, I would say "multiply out".
At least, that's what I thought it was.
