Our school is on a beautiful campus

Our school is on a beautiful campus with lots of modern buildings.

Hi,

The above is a stand-alone example in an English magazine for kids here. I don't think it sounds logic.

So, is it better to rewrite it as "our school has/owns/boasts a beautiful campus ...?" Thanks.
