Grammar

Otherwise

1. Does "otherwise" mean "performances of other kind"?

2. Does "these self-portraits also have to do with the medium-specific construction of the artist-self as a gay painter" mean "these self-portraits as a medium also help to give form to the identity of their artists as gay painters"?

Context:

Both Fetting’s and Salomé’s selfportraits from these years point to the culture and dynamics of gay nightlife, of stage performances in drag and otherwise. Introducing the quasi-ritualized action of drag and other types of sexualized performance as subject matter for painting, these self-portraits also have to do with the medium-specific construction of the artist-self as a gay painter.
