Others or others' luggage

what is correct? others luggage or others' luggage (if others is for plural)

Top answer

Hello Suhanii, the only genitive form available for others is that with apostrophe - others'. Please note that the genitive of other (as well as another ) is rare when the reference is general: * She has another's coat should be paraphrased into She has somebody else's coat. However, others' is still possible with narrower reference, so, if your sentence refers to particular people, you can use this form.
