Other/others----the other/theothers

Hi
I am Cuneyt Ozdemir from Istanbul,Turkey
Even I looked to many grammar books and I even read and read I couldn't understand the difference between other/the other usage, and and others /the others.
as far as i understand "the" rule in which if you know the thing/person or used second time
you can put "the" in front of them.
can you give me more explanations about that,please(meanwhile in which if...sentence is correct?)
