Hi myvi; I don't know of a single word that expresses this idea. There are synonyms for thesis : research paper, treatise, essay, proposal, composition, and argument. Some of these have different shades of meaning.

  • You can present your hypothesis in different ways, too - that would depend on the entire sentence, not just a phrase.

Actually I want to use this word as initial word of my sentence. For instance, "In this thesis....", "This thesis concerns mainly....". I want to use other term rather than to use these conventional term.

Hi,

'This thesis concerns mainly . . . ' does not sound like a good start. As suggested already by Astars, it's better if you show us a whole sentence. A whole paragraph would be better still.

It would also help to know what level you are studying at.

"In this thesis, an efficient code is presented for solving first and higher order initial value problems (IVPs) of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The proposed code consists of block method based on Adams type formula. This developed block method solves first and higher order ODEs problem directly in a single code using variable step size strategy. In order to gain an efficient numerical

Hi,

I've told you several times that in ordinary English the term 'program' is normal, rather than 'code'.

Actually, in traditional computer science, a "program" is a complete compilable (or interpretable) set of code that performs functions for which it was designed. An "executable" program is one that can be run under some operating environment.

"Code" is just a series of instructions in some computer language.

By analogy, a program would be all the writing that makes up a comple

thanks AS for the suggestion!
then how about the initial sentence that I had used? is there any appropriate sentences that can give similar meaning with it?

Hi myvi;

It is good to start with a problem statement, and the advantages of the new method: e.g.

Algorithms for for solving first and higher order initial value problems (IVPs) of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) have been designed and implemented, but they are computationally inefficient. The proposed block method, based on Adams type formula, can improve execution time
