Other + sg/pl?

It is an artificial additive for candies, chewing gums, and other food.

If you use "other" with "food", the food doesn't take the plural form.
"Other" is not a modifier that doesn't allow pluralization. Correct?

With food, you can go either way. I would choose the plural.
