Hi, The price tag is usually stuck on the item, or attached in some way, eg with a little piece of string. The price is normally also shown on the receipt, so it sounds odd to say that the original price tag is also required. Clive

Hi,

The price is normally also shown on the receipt, so it sounds odd to say that the original price tag is also required.

Hi Clive,The sentence was printed on a receipt. Does "original" in that sentence imply that if you cut the little piece of string you will be denied a refund or an exchange? (I was denied an exchange because I cut that little piece of string)ThanksTN

Hi,

'Original' just means 'not a copy'. It doesn't mean 'attached'.

Don't shop there again! It sounds like an unreasonable place.

Hi Clive,Thanks for explaining to me. Would "intact" to mean without cutting the piece of string work? For example "present your item for an exchange with the price tag still intact".TN

Hi,

It's unclear, but such wording would make me hesitate to cut the string.

If the store is so concerned about a little piece of string, they clearly are just trying to find excuses not to take the item back.
