Organization name as singular or plural?

I have a question about how to consistently treat an organization name as singular or plural. Here's the passage I'm grappling with:

"The Boys & Girls Club needs a lifeguard chair for its new pool. The lifeguard chair in the warehouse will be donated to them."

I'm concerned about using "its" in the first sentence and "them" in the second. Is it incorrect to do so?

(I realize that the second sentence is passive phrasing -- not worried about that.)

Thanks very much!
