Organic farming only uses natural cultivated methods, while methods that are used in conventional farming are unnatural. As a result, although conventional farming has a considerable advantage in productivity, it cannot be compared with organic farming in two fundamental aspects. The first aspect is that organic farming is more beneficial to the environment than conventional farming. First of all, organic farming buildshealthy soil whereas conventional farming makes soil degrade. Thanks to natural methods such as crop rotation, the use of green manure, composing, organic cultivation helps soil accumulate organic matter and combat erosion. On the contrary, traditional cultivation makes soil lose its nutrition and become impoverished by toxic chemicals such as synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and so on. Besides, organic farming encourages biodiversity, which contrast to conventional farming. Studies showed that the number of birds, insects and small plants in organic farming systems is usually more than that in conventional farming systems. This is because traditional cultivated methods with toxic chemicals hurt or skill these animals and plants. Another aspect being also crucial is that organic farming produces foods which are often assumed to be healthier for people than conventionally-produced foods. Scientists pointed out that the synthetic pesticides and herbicides used by conventional farmers degrade the quality of crops, which is harmful for our health. On the other hand, organic foods without any toxic chemicals are more nutritious and help our body become healthier. In conclusion, it is obvious that organic farming is much better than conventional farming so farmers should be encouraged to make use of organic cultivated methods in agriculture.
