Oreo frosting or icing?

I read that icing is thinner and more sugary, while frosting is thicker and more creamy/fatty. Now I'm not sure about the filling in Oreo cookies, would you call it icing or frosting? And I also read that frosting is mostly chocolate/vanilla but not fruity, so would it make a difference if the filling is vanilla or, say, orange?

This may not be helpful, but to me, they are homonyms. I use icing and frosting interchangeably.
