Orderly way?

He has never been able to express himself in a clear and orderly way.

This sentence is grammatically correct, right? What is "orderly" adverb or adjective. It looks like an adverb, but I guess it have to be adjective if the sentence is correct...

Please help me understand it!

clear and orderly is a compound adjective working together to modify the same noun: way.

Have you checked a dictionary? The word orderly will be listed as an adjective in any dictionary you check.

The vast majority of adverbs end in -ly, but not all words ending in -ly are adverbs. For example, the words friendly and ugly are also adjectives.

Yes, it does, because of the 'ly'. Nevertheless, this and several other adjectives end in 'ly'. (I just can't think of the others right now!)
