Ordering quantities

Hi

Suppose when I work out with a friend, my heart rate is X

When I work out alone, my heart rate is Y.

Suppose it is not always the case that X>Y. Depending on some factor A, it can be X>Y or Y>X.

Looking for a compact way how to write this in a sentence. Something like: "The heart rate cannot be uniquely ordered based on whether I work out alone or not: it may be higher or lower in either case depending on A".

Maybe, this sentence is wrong, maybe right but there is a shorter cleaner way.

Would be grateful for help!

Thanks

Dmitry

"cannot be uniquely ordered" is hard to understand. This is one suggestion: My heart rate when I work out alone may be higher or lower than when I work out with a friend, depending on A.
