Ordered by alphabet

Hi,

I want to say something like: the list of names are ordered by alphabet. Now I'm a bit confused whether this sentence is right or not... any suggestions?
Can I also say? sorted alphabetically or listed...

Hi Vince, Sorted alphabetically is definitely correct, we used to use this in the process of dictionary making. Listed alphabetically also sounds correct. Cheers,

'...in alphabetical order' is a very common phrase in BrE.

'The list of names is in alphabetical order.'
'I have put the list into alphabetical order.'

'I have sorted the list by name' also implies alphabetical order.

To put references into alphabetical order when making an index is also 'to index'.
