Order of adverbs

The other day in class we were doing the next exercise:

Put these adverbs and adverbial phrases in the correct place:
They spend their holidays. (in October / in the Bahamas / sometimes)

I thought the correct order was: They sometimes spend their holidays in the Bahamas in October.
But my teacher told it was: They sometimes spend their holidays in October in the Bahamas.
I thought place adverbs preceded time adverbs. Now I'm confused.Emotion: thinking

  • Hi Lenal Welcome to the Forums.
  • Your teacher's version is fine; it is better that 'in October' comes after 'holidays' as it makes it clear that their holidays are in October.
