Or vs Or else

Hi,

He had to do it, or they would fire him
He had to do it, or else they would fire him

Do 'or' and 'or else' mean the same thing? Can 'or else' be used after a comma like I've done, or must it always follow the semi-colon?

This is what the coding in your message looks like. How are you creating the last two lines and how can you avoid doing so?
Hi,

He had to do it, or they would fire him
He had to do it, or else they would fire him

Do 'or' and 'or else' mean the same thing?

Hi...sorry about that. I honestly don't know what to do. I typed directly into the message box, and I got this 'session data' thing. For the next message, I typed it on the notepad and then copied it to the message box. Both options give me the same result. I don't know what to do.
