No; it makes it hard to interpret. Even the original I had to read twice to understand, and the second version is worse.

Oh.. I see. Then is there a better eay to make the original more easy to be read?

It is always difficult to try to write a new pattern like that listing for me.

"It's not his lack of understanding, or lack of a good nature, or his lack of entertaining qualities, or of useful qualities that you're complaining of." should be easier to understand. But these are four complex and unrelated characteristics that you're trying to string together in one sentence, so it's going to be inherently difficult to understand something like this.
