Or and repetition

Hello,

Suppose we write: Would Mary talk to X to sort things out, or would she deny her brother a shot at promotion?

Two questions: Can we repeat 'would' in this manner while using 'or' to bring up alternatives? Or, is there a simpler way?

Second, using 'deny', I take it 'deny Mary an apple' is correct and one doesn't have to write: deny Mary of an apple (with an of).

Thanks,
