Options menu (article)

Hi,
We have a software application that has an Options menu in the top right corner. One user complains he can't see that menu.

I say:
A.
'The user is reporting he cannot see an Options menu.'
'The user is reporting he cannot see the Options menu.'
I think either is fine. 'An' means 'any', 'the' means 'that / the one supposed to be there / the one of which we know'.

B.
'The user is missing an Options menu.'
'The user is missing the Options menu.'
I still think either is correct, but I prefer 'the'.

Correct?
