With certain words the opposite of steep is gentle.

It's a [steep / gentle] climb to the top.

A [steep / gentle] slope leads to the cabin

Hello

thank you for your answer. I used hill instead of mountain from the dictionary example.

SiernanI have been told I cannot say a gradual hill
No. Not gradual and not gentle. You'll have to use low hill or just say the hill was not steep. It's impossible for me to say without the exact sentences you are trying to form.

You might use "shallow".

Thank you CSnyder

I could say

The second hill was not difficult to climb as it was shallow whereas the firt was steep.

This looks better than low which is opposite of high.

Thank you

wouldn't it be gentle or omething like that

Shallow is not used to describe elevation. It's used describe the depth of water (or an inconsiderate person's nature).

In math/science "shallow incline" is used quite commonly. I think the dictionaries need updating to reflect this, but it is common. Just do an internet search...
