I had a few questions if you don't mind

1 you used "to his shooting hand"

2 you used "of the way you usually do" Wouldn't it be "to the way you usually do" or "from the way you usually do"

3 you used "of" why isn't it "opposite direction to the one we were supposed to go"

4 wouldn't it be ok to say "act AS the opposite of.... or no?

Thank you Alphecca

The use of these prepositions is rather arbitrary. A native speaker will understand it, and probably not even notice if you use "direction to" rather than "direction of" or vice versa. You might get other renditions from other native speakers. I just tried to write what came most naturally to my personal taste.

Notice that I switched the two words (purposefully) opposite and dir

OK, I understand,

Could you just tell me if you would put AS

A concave lens will act AS the opposite of a magnifying glass, reducing the size of whatever you're looking at.

or would you rephrase it?

Could you tell me if this is grammatical to you, it sounds correct to me? I'm sorry, I like really understanding it.

1 Turn the key in the (opposite) direct

Do you use THAN or THAT?

1 Turn the key in the opposite direction THAT/THAN you normally would.
2 He went in the opposite direction THAN/THAT he was supposed to be going i(n).

I'd use THAT but not sure.
