What is the difference between opinion and perspective, and which one is formal ?

Opinion – refers to what you have decided about something. “It is my opinion that people are now living longer than is appropriate, given the over-population of the world.”
Perspective – refers to what influences your choices and opinions. “From the perspective of an elderly but healthy retiree, I have decided that I am becoming a burden to society.”
