We are becoming more and more dependent on machines to function in the modern world. Some people think this is a very negative development.

Some people believe that relying on machines on a regular basis may have some harmful impacts on human life. In my view, although I partly agree with this opinion, I still believe that technological and scientific advancements can bring people a lot of conveniences.

There are several rationales behind the school of thought that the involvement of machines in human life may do more harm than good. Firstly, the replacement of machinery and equipment in the workplace is proved to adversely affect the labor market. For example, a robot is capable of replacing at least three workers on average, resulting in a higher rate of unemployment. Secondly, frequent exposure to automated devices may lead to serious health problems. For instance, people who spend most of their time working with computers and smartphones are more likely to suffer from back pain and headaches.

However, it is undeniable that the application of advanced machinery has enormous benefits in various aspects of life. Firstly, automated manufacturing systems contribute tremendously to enhancing the efficiency of mass production. Thanks to the assistance of high-tech machinery, factories have the potential to produce a larger quantity of commodities in a short period of time. Secondly, the use of machines can help to reduce the risk of workplace injuries and accidents, especially in heavy industries. For instance, in the field of construction, robots can be used to take care of dangerous tasks independently, which will prevent workers from the dangers of being injured.

In conclusion, it seems to me that depending on machines has two facets. In order to make machine-human collaboration more effective, it is advisable to broaden our knowledge about the operation of high-tech machinery in the workplace.
