Opening line in email. Greetings from

Hello all,

I have a question regarding the opening line in email.

I am wondering if it is odd to use following line in email opening line -“greetings from <name>?

Example:

Hi <recipient>,

Greetings from George.

<Content>

Thank you, <recipient>

Best Regards,

George

That's not suitable for a business email. It's OK for an email to a friend, although to me it seems a bit excessive.
