open cloze

Hello everybody!
Here is a sentence:
"The whole family, with the notable .... of the youngest son, arrived for the reunion at the Italian restaurant."
I thought of:
"The whole family, with the notable PRESENCE of the youngest son, arrived for the reunion at the Italian restaurant."
Is it correct? Thank you!

TinaMr Is it correct? Quite possible, but the expected answer is 'absence' or 'exception'. Not a well-conceived question.

Thank you Mister Micawber! It looks like, "absence" suits more...
