Open air home

Hi,

I have a question in following sentence.

That day, guilds had gathered in the open-air homes to spin silk.

What is the open-air homes? I googled it, but I could not find certain explanation or image..

Thank you,

Ryo

If you can remember a film set in ancient Rome or Greece, or in a Biblical setting, you've seen at least something of what I would call an open-air home. Not just a regular four-walled building with a roof.
