Onto

Hello,

"Do you remember I told you about the car that I was getting passed onto me?"

If the underlined part is an assertive sentence, can it be:
I was getting the car passed onto me.
or
I was getting passed the car onto me.

And one more thing I don't understand is its meaning. Could you help, please?
