Onrush/overflow

Hi,

“Let’s say that I’m driving along the motorway and as I pass an entrance ramp, I notice that there are a lot of cars queueing up there.”

Can I say that:

“There was a real overflow of cars on the entrance ramp.”

I also found the word ‘onrush’, but I’ve never heard it used in a similar context.

Thank you.
