Only present perfect future correct?

Hi. Please help. What kind of tenses would it be possible to use after the phrase "By the time he comes back"? Could we use any other tenses other than the present perfect future tense "will have + verb"?

eg,

By the time he comes back, he will have done the job.

Could we use this verb form?

By the time he comes back, he may have done the job.
