MoonriseEx: "The wonderful landscape made me stay longer there." When I use "made me" in that context, I mean "attracted me". I couldn't help but stay there. Does it sound unnatural?

A little. It's metaphoric, but not completely wrong.

MoonriseIn the OP sentence, he meant the same.

I think you're guessing, just like the rest of us. If you've read enough posts, you come to realize that sentences can suggest a lot of different meanings, and some of them don't even come close to what the OP really meant.

Regarding the first part, yes, it is. That's what makes it sound different.

Regarding the second part, not really guessing. Sometimes I guess but when I guess, I mention that clearly. Here, I really think that he meant the same because when I read it for the first time, it seems clear to me. Maybe because I use the same term. Moreover, the first sentence gives a good guide. I may be wrong, though.
